Let me tell you about the time when I spent the whole day in the city with a couple of friends.
I met them during one of my hikes in the Lake District. I was hiking alone and I stumbled upon this group of friendly folks and ended up hanging out with them. We exchange messages from time to time and they mentioned that they had plans to go to London for some leisure activity. I volunteered to give them a tour. It was a fun-filled day and I was quite happy with the itinerary I came up for them. They said they enjoyed it a lot so I thought about sharing with you what we did on that day.
A day out in the city of London
So here is a run-down of what we did during that day in the city of London.
We started by going to the London Eye. I wanted to give them a view of the whole city before we start exploring it. They were able to see the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and of course, good ole Big Ben. We then walked along the river Thames to see the London Aquarium. Being nature lovers like me, we all appreciated the marine life. Since the queue was really short in our first two destinations, we had enough time to go to the London Dungeon. We took our lunch in a nearby cafe – the Cucina Cafe Bar.
After we had our lunch, we stayed for a couple of minutes before heading out our next destination – Madame Tussauds and the Sherlock Holmes Museum. It was in the museum that we spent a lot of time in. We took the Tube to get to Baker Street station. We spent the late afternoon walking around Regent’s Park.
We spent a lot of time walking and exploring the Regent’s Park until night time. We had dinner at the Regent’s Bar and Kitchen. We talked a lot and just goofed around while lounging in the park. It was a lot of fun and a great way to end our day in the city of London. We could see the people starting to leave and we decided to stay until closing time.
All in all, the day went by really fast but we were able to explore a lot of the main attractions in the city. It was a great day in the city.
