I am going to North of Sweden! Finally! I have been dreaming of going to this place for as long as I can remember. When I first saw a photo of the Northern lights, I knew I had to visit the place. It took some time to save the money and a lot of planning with my friends. But it was all worth it. We will spend two glorious weeks this summer in this magical place!
Why the North of Sweden?
There are two main reasons why I have always wanted to visit the place.
Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun
As I said, I fell in love with the idea of visiting the natural lights in this part of the world. With the permanent cloud-free skies, it is very easy to see them. Also, I would love to experience the having the sun up and high even when it is midnight. This is why we scheduled the trip this summer.
Hiking and Skiing
The lover of outdoors in me will never turn down an opportunity to go hiking. There is also the chance to go fly-fishing for salmon! It will be a great way to reminisce the time I spent with my Dad when I was young. Our fishing escapades were part of the reason why I fell in love with the outdoors. There is also the King’s Trail that we will hike. I am looking forward to the time we will spend skiing too!
These are only some of the things that made us decide to go on the trip to the North of Sweden.
What do I plan to do in the North of Sweden?
So what else do we have planned? Well, we heard about the Ice Hotel but we were not able to book at least one night to stay. We will see if we can visit it still. It would be awesome if we can explore it.We also have plans to reach at least one summit among the many snowy peaks in the North of Sweden. Kebnekaise is the highest but I am not sure if we can all go. One thing is for sure, we will go camping underneath the northern lights. I am pretty sure that would be awesome!
We will probably go on a dog sled ride. One of my pals is not into it so we are still deciding if it is something that we want to pursue. We still have a month or so to finalise everything before we head out to the North of Sweden. That is plenty of time to make up our minds.
The excitement is building!
