As a lover of the outdoors, I am compelled to give a helping hand to clean up parks in the city. After all, I am one of those who loves to dwell in the beauty of the outdoors. What better way to give back than to make sure these parks are clean and well-maintained?
Helping clean up parks
So how do I help? I usually volunteer to help maintain and clean The Royal Parks.
There are many parks under them like the Kensington Gardens, Regent’s Park, and the Hyde Park. They are constantly looking for volunteers to, not just help clean, but also to educate people on how to take care of the environment. Sometimes, we also do some gardening to cultivate the plants and trees in the parks. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you simply have to go to the Volunteering Opportunities page of the Royal Parks website and click on a program or event that you want to be a part of. You just have to get in touch with the Volunteer Mentor and they will assess if you have the skills to help out. You will be asked to complete an application form, required to attend an induction to the parks, and issued a name badge, clothing, and tools to help you do your task.
Volunteering to clean up parks is a great way to give nature a helping hand. After all, it helps keep the city beautiful. We are the ones to benefit from it so volunteering every now and then should be worth our time.
