Path maintenance The council’s rights of way team has been cut by 30% with further cuts expected. David Waterstone has conducted talks with the council and the Cotswold wardens regarding volunteer maintenance and training. A team of 25 volunteers from South Glos has come forward together with 2 from B&NES. Therefore David appealed for more volunteers. In the meantime Rural England have donated £2000 and David has been given a free hedge trimmer from Bosch. David has arranged further discussions with the council regarding funding and required work. This work will of course be carried on outside the Cotswold wardens area. Please contact David if you can assist. Avon Area meetings Marietta made an appeal for a representative to attend area meetings. As no one has as yet come forward Marilyn will again fill this post. This post will be advertised together with a publicity officer in Footnotes. Please contact Marietta if you can assist. If you have pictures you would like published please either email them to me at franktompson@talktalk.net, or send them by post to: Frank Tompson, 23 Nelson House, Nelson Place West, Bath BA1 2TL |
